Tree Preservation Orders and Conservation areas:
Some trees are covered by Tree Preservation orders (TPO), this is usually on a specific tree. For any work that needs to be carried out to a tree with a TPO, permission needs to be granted from the local authority.

Conservation Area:
A conservation area usually covers a large area such as a village or part of a section of a town. The conservation area covers anything of any size in your garden.
